Degree Requirements
All candidates must have obtained at least a 2:2 Honours Degree from a United Kingdom Higher Education Institution or equivalent qualification.

GCSE Requirements
All candidates MUST HAVE completed the Maths, English & Science GCSE prior to application to the SCITT course.
Applicants will also need to demonstrate passion for learning and developing others, commitment to working with children and commitment to self-development.

Applications should be made through the Graduate Teacher Training Registry (GTTR).

The Graduate Teacher Training Registry is an admissions service operated by the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) which acts on behalf of Initial Teacher Training (ITT) providers in England and Wales, and all Scottish Teaching Education Institutions (TEIs), to process applications for entry onto PGCE courses.

Successful applicants are invited to a selection day. During the selection day, candidates are requested to present a short presentation, work with a small group of children, complete written assessments in English and Mathematics and answer questions at interview.

Selection is carried out by Headteachers and Professional Tutors from the Gateshead 3-7 SCITT, Consortium Schools & Associate Schools.
