Entry Requirements

Degree Requirements
All candidates must have obtained at least a 2:2 Honours Degree from a United Kingdom Higher Education Institution or equivalent qualification.


GCSE Requirements
All candidates MUST HAVE completed the Maths, English & Science GCSE prior to application to the SCITT course.
Applicants will also need to demonstrate passion for learning and developing others, commitment to working with children and commitment to self-development.

Applications should be made through the Graduate Teacher Training Registry (GTTR).

Selection Process

Successful applicants are invited to a selection day. During the selection day, candidates are requested to present a short presentation, work with a small group of children, complete written assessments in English and Mathematics and answer questions at interview.

Selection is carried out by Headteachers and Professional Tutors from the Gateshead 3-7 SCITT, Consortium Schools & Associate Schools.
